Can you spot Venus in broad daylight?

Venus in the daytime sky, photographed from Fourmilab, 2004-09-05 12:27 UTC
For the fourth time in my life, I spotted Venus in broad daylight with the unaided (apart from eyeglasses) eye, around 14:00 local time on September 5th, 2004. Can you? This photo was taken shortly thereafter (12:27 UTC) with a Nikon D70 camera with 28-200 zoom lens at 200mm focal length, f/36 at 1/60 second. I liked how Venus was framed in the tree branches, which made it easier to spot without optical assistance.
